An Introduction of Sorts

Hello readers, friends, family and search engine passerby’s, welcome to my attempt to share my thoughts and environmentally fueled rants and political discourse .  Now, not all things regurgitated here will always be serious in nature.  Some will be silly and entertaining while others will be just down right fun and debaucherous.  This will reflect my life as I start a new chapter in Denver, Co pursuing my Masters degree in Environmental Science.  It's also an attempt to cull my rants on Facebook and keep from annoying friends of mine (those that haven't already blocked my posts), especially those of a conservative inclination.

My first blog, which I started earlier this year, was for my attempted thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.  I say attempted because I ran out of time to finish the whole thing.  Injuries and days off the trail lead to me falling about 5 weeks behind schedule and with a pressing deadline to get to CO for school, well, I had to call it off in NJ/NY.  That blog lead to me sharing much emotion, inspiration, pictures and events along the way.  I truly enjoyed, although much was written in a rushed manner, sharing everything within that page.

So, as I sit here two weeks into my relocation of the Beautiful and inspiring city of Denver, I feel compelled to get this thing started.  I have already hiked St. Mary’s Glacier (pics will be posted), rode the trails at Lair of the Bear in Morrison (no pics) and started my first semester of grad school.  I’m rooming with the ever fabulous Jen, a friend from Florida (I grew up there) and my awesome dog Dakota.  Together we will take this city and the Backcountry of this Beautiful state by storm…..when I have time allotted from my research and scholastic priorities ;-)

This weekend is Labor Day weekend, and Lucky for me I won’t be tied down with too much school related stuff.  Tomorrow morning I’m riding Lair O’ the Bear again, then studying and on Sunday I’ll be hiking Mt. Bierstadt (14,060ft) with my cousin and possibly roommate.  Monday shall be a day of rest and cramming more information into my brain.

Pictures and such to follow, some posts will just comprise of pictures while others will be more of this nature or a mix of both.  It’s my blog and I’ll do as I see fit ;-)
Hope you all enjoy, feel free to post any comments along the way, and I look forward to sharing my new life and upcoming adventures with you all.

Cheers,
E
